Network - String Table
This table began as an exploration of how arrays of lines can form planes, and how subtle twists in those planes create interesting geometry. I designed a structure in CAD that could support my collection of lines, and suspended a hexagonal beam in the center to act as a way to redirect the lines. After designing the piece, I picked out some curly maple and a hunk of mesquite and got to work cutting the hexagonal angles needed. The joints are mitered and joined with mesquite splines, and the legs are dowel jointed for support.
